4th of July

We spent the 4th in New York City. Teä really loved the City, however, she was horrible on the train we took to get in, in the hotel room and for some of the Subway rides. The first night there she went to bed at 7:30 and was up for the day at 11:45 the same night. Poor Greg had to take her for a walk in the cty (beyond scary, I know) because we didn't want the ear piercing screams to wake our neighbors, even though some of our neighbors had no problem yelling and laughing and banging on doors at 3:30 a.m. when they finally came home from the bar. The fourth was much better. She slept from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. She had a great time at the fireworks. We were also able to go the Natural History Museum, Central Park, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building (just the outside), World Trade Center, the famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest that Nathans puts on every year on Coney Island (the American took back the title this year....yeah, I didn't care either but Greg was all into it) and Lombardi's Pizzeria (Greg's choice, but well worth it). I quickly discovered that the city I love so much and is a second home to me, is the most horrible city to take a child to. I'm proud of myself though, I didn't take a taxi once, it was all Subway. Anyway, enjoy the pics.

World Trade Center site. They put up screens so you can't see in but we found a hole.

the hot dog contest......disgusting. The winner had 66 hot dogs, that's hot dogs and the bun, in 12 minutes.
This was probably around 6 a.m. on the second walk of the night...the first being at midnight. She was only happy in the city. That's my girl.

The National History Museum

The Brooklyn Bridge. We stood under it for the fireworks show.

Once again, I'm jealous. I am also proud of you for not taking a cab. I would have used the baby as an excuse to take one for sure! I am sure it was cool to spend the 4th in NYC! I also love the shaking butt video.
