Vent of the day

I posted these pictures a) because that is the cutest baby I've ever seen, b) because it's fun to look at old baby pictures of Teä, c) it makes me miss my cute, custom condo, and d) most importantly for this post, because it shows off her adorable chubbiness. The reason d is the most important for this post is to educate others about chubby babies. People under the age of....let's say 15, should not be considered fat. So if 15 is the prime number, a 6 month old should NEVER be referred to as fat. I only say this because I recently heard someone refer to a baby (under 1) as fat and it brought back memories of when Teä was younger and people would call her fat. I know people don't mean it in a hurtful way, but it's rude and the parents don't like to hear it. I felt like Teä was going to get a complex and she was only 2 months old. So, I feel it is important to warn people that if you refer to a baby as fat in my presence, you will get an earful. Just DON'T do it.

Ha, how's that for a lecture.

I agree, and I think your baby is beautiful!

I also ordered from your Scentsy Party. I have been looking for someone I know. I didn't want to just go through a stranger, but I agree with you I try a lot of smelly things and I really like their product.

I'm glad someone agrees and thanks for the compliment Mindi.

Thanks for ordering too! I love Scentsy as well. I also like to order under someone I know so if you ever want to throw a party, I'll order under you!

People always called Polly "chubby," & I didn't mind that. But now that she is getting older, I hate to even tell her that she has chubby cheeks, even though I LOVE them & think they are the cutest ever. To sum it up, I agree with you as well. Nobody ever called her fat, but if they did I might have been a little taken back by it.

How long does your party last? I almost bought a Scentsy from a friend in November, but we were moving & it was bad timing in regards to our budget. I have been dying to get one & could probably count it as a Mother's Day Present. :)

I totally agree! I have problems with people calling Mason fat... mostly my husband...

I think that chubby babies are the cutest, they are happy and healthy. I LOVE the second picture of Tea, I swear she still makes that face :)

I completely understand what you're saying. And she's just a cute adorable baby.
That being said, I call my own baby (Isaac) my little "Fatty fat" all the time. . .but it's in a loving way. Maybe we should stop that, huh?
But I always maul him with kisses all over his belly and then I blow on his rolls as I'm saying it. So, I guess I should try and be more sensitive to it.
And by the way, we think Tea is the most adorable, kissable little baby around. And we miss her. :)

Good job being so straight forward. I think Tea is so cute! It bothers me when people say mean things to or about babies or toddlers because they don't think they understand. First of all, they understand a lot more than we think they do. And second, if you start out doing it who's to say you're ever going to stop. We should fill our babies up with love and sweet words.

Someone called Tea fat? Did they know who her mother is?!
Tea is a doll!

Amen Andrea, I'm not sure they know who they are messing with ;)

Emily, I couldn't agree more.

Melanie, we miss you guys so much. Greg needs Seth around and I would love for Tea to be around your little guys.

April, you're funny! I think she does make that face too, mainly when she's mad.

Ok first of all Tea is adorable! Second of all, I LOVE the idea of having a vent of the day on a blog. I know I could definitely come up with something to vent about every single day. Does that mean I'd have to say something nice just to counter it though - because if it does, it's not worth venting :)

Chubby babies are the cutest!! I wouldn't want it any other way. People have called Halle fat and it pisses me off. She's not even one, she is NOT FAT. Neither was Tea. Some people are just rude.

I was just thinking about something along these lines today. I never want to hear my girls say they're fat or call each other fat--no matter how old they are! (I'm already having to start watching what I say about my own body.) Aren't babies supposed to be chubby? Isn't that generally a mark of a well-nourished child?

Amen to that! Hazen is really skinny (HELLO, HE WAS 3 LBS WHEN HE WAS BORN), and it really really really bothers me when people go up to him and can't get over how "tiny" he is. My response? "Well, he was 3 lbs when he was born, and so he's almost 6x his birth weight, so he's perfect to me"

How do you pronounce your daughter's name?

Anne, thanks for the comment. ISn't it amazing what people say to you and your children! There are several who don't think before they speak.

You pronounce her name like Princess Leia from star wars but with a T.

Jessica, I'm so glad you posted this! Tea is so adorable in all her chubbiness! As a fellow mom of a chunkalicious baby, I just had this conversation with my sister-in-law about my 4-month-old. I don't mind "chubby", but "fat" just carries so many negative connotations!
