so funny
Does anyone remember these? I found an Etsy site that sells the instructions on how to make these bows. Now, take a walk with me down memory lane. The year is 1988 (guesstimating) and candy filled bows are the current rage. Why???? I have no clue. They were ugly then, why in the world would anyone think they are cute now? Now don't get me wrong, they were ugly but I still wore them in all my 80's glory...neon green leg warmers, rolled color sweater socks, and denim jacket. However, to my credit, my fashion sense was non-existent then and my Mom let me wear whatever I wanted. This often included black and hot pink striped pants and a floral shirt, oh yeah baby, I love the 80's. Back to the ugly bows, as if wearing the ugly bows wasn't bad enough, I remember my sisters and I were craving candy...oh yeah, you know where this is headed...so we decided to, that's right, open the bows and ate the stale, nasty, old candy. I'm sure we only had a couple bites before we realized it was disgusting, but nonetheless, we opened it up. Now, if anyone is dying to get the instructions, let me know and I'd be happy to search for the instructions.

I definitely had one of those bows in the early 90's. I think they did them for a Mother/Daughter Homemaking thing. Mine had neon yellow and green Nerds--to match the lovely neon yellow and green shirt I wore. Too bad there's not a "gag me with a fork" emoticon--as it would work really well here.
Oh my gosh. I totally forgot about those. I do remember eating them, that is so funny. Please don't tell me they are making a comeback.
I forgot about them too! I would have eaten it, stale or not! Sometimes you just need sugar. I was hoping you were going to say you were starting to make them! I think it would be a real seller!
When the picture popped up I panicked thinking you were going to add those to the TRULY cute bows I see on Tea. What a relief to read your text. I was married in 1988 so I totally missed wearing them. Big sigh of relief. But it cracked me up that you and your friends ate them!
