Contradictions

My friend made a post a while ago about her contradictions in parenting. I would like to read something like that and think, not me, I'm perfect.....but that would be a load of CRAP, a big steaming load of crap to be exact. I read that, laughed and then realized just how many contradictions I make daily.

For example:

Me: Tea do not touch the diapers or so help me.....
Me later on: Tea, can you go get mommy a diaper.
***************************************
Me: You are not allowed to open the front door EVER, you know better.
Me later on: Tea, can you go open the front door for mommy?
***************************************
Me: Do NOT take your diaper off.
Me later on: Tea, take your diaper off so we can give you a bath. (I really need to stop this one and then maybe the poor girl will not be put through the duct tape torture, perhaps I should have to wear duct tape as well)
****************************************
Me: absolutely no more cookies.
Me two seconds later: OK, just one more.
*****************************************
Me: Tea we don't say stupid.
Me later on: That person is so stupid (probably in reference to Barack or some other shady, stupid (see) politician...ha ha ha).
*****************************************
Me: Tea we don't say shut up.
Me later on: Whatever, shut up.

Wow, and she's only two. How screwed up will she be when she's 16. She'll need to learn the art of do as I say, not as I do when it comes to me :) (because we all know that kids love that!!!!)

haha, Tea say stupid dog sometimes... and I tell her that we don't say that... then I say 5 secs later. So I am sorry if Tea learned that from me :( please forgive me, I promise I do take care of her

Oh my gosh! My kids are gonna be screwed up too. I do pretty much all of those. They've gotta be so confused! That was fun to read though! I'm just glad I'm not the only one who does that. I'm such a pushover, it's gonna bite me in the butt one day!

I've never thought about that, but HOLY SMOKES I do that all the time too! I let Annie spank me whenever I say stupid (which I do A LOT)...she thinks it's fun and I can get away with saying it :)

LOL! I see myself doing these same kinds of things all the time! I guess that's one way kids learn about timing and when things are appropriate, right?

Oh April, you can't do any worse than us. I promise you're not the one who taught her stupid, I say it ALL the time.

Wow, that sounds like my parenting. And Eli calls me on it all the time. It stinks when I ask him where he learned something and then I figure out that he learned it from me. In fact, most of his snotty remarks came from something he's heard me say, like his latest. "I've just had it with you! I can't take any more of this behavior from you!"
Yeah, I'm screwing up my kids.

Wow! How true is this post! I find I do stuff like that all the time! Perhaps I should work on my double standards and then my kids wouldn't be in trouble so much just for doing what I do!
